I sent my 4 year old gelding to Carlos and Amy to be started under saddle. My ultimate goal was for him to be gentle enough for my 7 and 4 year old children to ride. Rocket spent 2 months with Carlos and my kids were able to ride him right off. Now we take the kids to gymkhanas on Rocket and I also use him for me!
We were so happy with Rockets training progress that we have sent my Mom and Sisters horse to them to.

Your training price is already reasonable but I was surprised at how much I got for the money. Other trainers might tell you that they will work with a certain horse for a few minutes each day, but Molly received much more abundant time every day with Carlos. When I came for lessons with Carlos, you and Amy were always generous with your time, and patient with whatever I needed to accomplish. That day that I had Carlos` help for 3 solid hours was the day that I made a lot of progress. Thank you for your generosity (and flexibility with my work schedule). I never felt rushed or that I was intruding on your time.

So far, we've encountered hikers with dogs, runners coming at us FAST,
bikes, strollers, etc. Oh, the best one was running into a black bear cub at Bobcat Ridge in Masonville. Molly just looked at all of these distractions.....absolutely no problems. When we rode at Pineridge
(by the CSU stadium in Ft. Collins) we got Molly into the water of a
small lake. She stood there knee-deep in water, and only came out when
we were sure she was about to drop and roll!

As someone who
had very little experience with horses and riding I can’t recommend the
horse/rider training enough! Thanks to Carlos and Amy, my 5 year old mare and I
have a wonderful foundation of trust, respect and skill. My mare was halter
broke when we started the horse/rider training and I had about 10 hours of
riding. We were in training for about 4 months and in that time she learned her
gaits, side pass, backing, opening/closing gates and even bowing by the
slightest cues while my riding improved 100x! Because my mare was trained to
have a great foundation of respect and trust she has excellent ground manners,
doesn’t spook, has never bucked, kicked or bolted. My 3 year old rides her with
a lead line while whooping and hollering the whole time – doesn’t phase her.
I continue to take lessons
with Carlos and Amy. I think I am addicted to the progress and fun my mare and
I have together. If you are serious about improving your horsemanship, riding
skills and your horse, the horse/rider training will be worth every dollar and
hour of your time.
